This is the first of three important parts of our
School Code and all students have been encouraged to participate actively
in two special
events that have taken place this term.
Our first special event took place in November. We were fortunate to have Mr. Art McIntrye come to the school on Monday, November 3rd
to teach the staff and students a variety of traditional dances.
In the weeks following, the students had an
opportunity to practice and perfect these dances.
On November 18th, we had a special Assembly
where all of the classes performed their dances: “doing their best to
learn”. It was a wonderful celebration
of learning.
During December, the students had an opportunity to
take three weeks of tennis lessons as a continuation of “done their best to
learn”. The students enjoyed the tennis
lessons as part of the Physical Education programme and positive growth in
their tennis skills was seen. We would
like to thank the PAC for covering the costs for the lessons.
